Meet Dr. Uri Krakauer
Co-Founder and Clinical Director
I'm Dr. Uri Krakauer, a New York-licensed psychologist, co-founder and clinical director of Connection Point Psychology
My style as a therapist is warm, active, curious, and direct. I listen closely to what you are saying, but also to what may be more difficult to put into words. Together, we look beneath the immediate problem to understand the emotions, experiences, and relationship patterns that may be shaping it.
I do not believe therapy needs to feel stiff or distant to be meaningful. There is room for depth, honesty, humor, uncertainty, and the ordinary messiness of being a person. You do not need to arrive with a perfect explanation of what is wrong. Part of the work is helping you find the words and make sense of it together.
In addition to my clinical work, I provide ongoing clinical oversight, supervision, and training to the therapists at Connection Point. I remain actively involved in supporting their work, consulting on clinical questions, and ensuring that the care we provide reflects the practice’s standards and values. Our therapists are part of a connected clinical team, with continued guidance and support as their work develops.
Education and Experience
I earned my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Pace University. I completed my doctoral internship at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, followed by postdoctoral training at Ellis Psychology.
My experience includes individual and couples therapy, psychological assessment, clinical supervision, and work across hospital, group-practice, and private-practice settings.
